The Intelligent Visibility Monitoring Station: Optimizing Highway Traffic Flow in Low Visibility
Article source:Weather station time:2024-11-27 09:37:36 viewed:2times
Visibility monitoring stations are usually set up near highways. When the monitoring station detects that the visibility has decreased to a certain extent (such as when the visibility is less than 50 meters due to heavy fog), it indicates that there may be a serious safety threat to traffic.
The traffic management department will immediately take a series of measures to prevent weather disasters based on the data from the monitoring station. First, it will issue fog warning information to drivers through electronic display screens, traffic radio, etc., informing them that the visibility on the front section of the road is poor and reminding drivers to slow down and turn on the fog lights. At the same time, temporary control measures may be set up at the entrances of the highway to restrict the entry of vehicles into the highway and avoid a large number of vehicles pouring into the foggy area and causing chain rear-end collisions and other accidents.
Traffic patrol personnel will also strengthen their patrols in the foggy sections of the road to detect and handle vehicle breakdowns or accidents in a timely manner. In some sections with a high degree of automation, the brightness of street lights can also be automatically adjusted according to the visibility data to enhance the lighting effect and assist drivers in safe driving.
These measures are based on the data from the Visibility monitoring station to prevent disasters caused by heavy fog on traffic in advance.
The FT-NJD10 traffic visibility monitoring meteorological station plays a crucial role in ensuring road traffic safety. By setting up multiple monitoring sites along the highway and realizing networked operation, it can accurately conduct automated monitoring of various meteorological elements such as visibility, wind direction, wind speed, temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure. The monitored data will be quickly transmitted to the monitoring center, providing an important reference basis for the traffic control system. In case of severe weather conditions, this meteorological station also has the function of automatically issuing warning information to inform managers and drivers in a timely manner, effectively improving the driving safety and traffic efficiency of the highway.
The six-element integrated sensor adopted is unique. The probe top cover of the wind speed and wind direction sensor is cleverly hidden. The piezoelectric rain sensor uses PVDF piezoelectric film combined with an embedded AI neural network, which can accurately distinguish rain drop signals and effectively avoid false triggering caused by external interference. Moreover, it comes standard with GPRS wireless transmission function, and the power supply method is flexible. It can be powered by solar energy or mains power, and can adapt to different usage scenarios and requirements.
