Dust: A Major Contributor to PM and the Solution of Detection
Article source:Weather station time:2024-12-20 09:55:23 viewed:5times
As an important source of PM particulate matter, dust is generated by natural wind forces and human activities, such as construction work, road dust, industrial material stacking and loading and unloading. The particulate components in dust are complex, and the particle size distribution is wide. A large number of particles fall within the scope of PM10 and PM2.5, which can remain suspended in the air for a long time, directly increasing the concentration of PM particulate matter in the atmosphere.
PM, especially the fine particulate matter PM2.5, is extremely harmful. Its small particle size allows it to penetrate deep into the human respiratory system and even enter the alveoli, causing respiratory diseases such as coughing and asthma. Long-term exposure also increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases, such as heart attacks and strokes. It reduces atmospheric visibility, affects traffic safety, and has a negative impact on the ecological environment, damaging plant growth and soil quality, and thus disrupting the entire ecological balance, posing a serious threat to human survival and health. Therefore, reducing PM pollution is urgent.
A dust detector can monitor the dust concentration in the air in real time and accurately reflect the PM pollution situation. By installing it in areas where dust is frequently generated, such as construction sites and road construction areas, once the detected dust concentration exceeds the standard, dust suppression measures can be initiated in a timely manner, such as sprinkling water to suppress dust on the construction site and covering the material stacking area. At the same time, based on the data feedback from the detector, the dust prevention plan can be optimized, and the construction time and operation methods can be adjusted, thus effectively controlling dust generation and reducing PM pollution, creating a cleaner and healthier air environment for people.
