Forest fires are closely related to the weather. When the temperature is high, forest combustibles are easy to dry, increasing the risk of fire. For example, in the hot summer, continuous high temperatures make fires more likely to occur. Low humidity causes the moisture in combustibles to evaporate quickly, making them dry and flammable, and the frequency of fires is high in dry autumn; conversely, high humidity can reduce flammability. Wind not only provides oxygen for combustion, making the fire fiercer and spreading faster, but also can change the direction of the fire, and may even blow sparks to a distance and cause new fire sources. Precipitation can increase humidity, moisten combustibles and directly extinguish open flames, reducing the probability of fire. However, heavy rain after a long period of drought may cause geological disasters that affect firefighting.
The Forestry Weather Station combines technologies such as the Internet of Things and intelligent micro-sensors to accurately detect forest meteorology, phenology, and combustible information. The device is composed of meteorological sensors, collectors, solar power supply systems, pole brackets, and cloud platforms. It has the advantages of rapid deployment and no need for debugging, and is widely applicable to multiple fields.
The collector has a power consumption as low as less than 50uA in static state, is connected to the Internet via GPRS, and supports Bluetooth and wired transmission expansion. It has a 7-inch Android touch screen for convenient operation and supports sensor expansion. Solar charging uses MPPT technology to increase efficiency by 20%, and there are also solid brackets and protective boxes to ensure the safety and stability of the equipment. It has a short message alarm function to ensure that abnormal data is notified in time.
The collector, sensor interfaces, and power supply specifications are clear, and the data upload interval can be adjusted. Many sensors can accurately monitor various key indicators such as ambient temperature (-40~+80°C, 0.01°C resolution, ±0.3°C accuracy), relative humidity (0~100% RH, 0.01% RH resolution, ±3% RH accuracy), etc.
The software has powerful functions. The upper computer software can receive and process data and set parameters; the Android APP supports Bluetooth reception, background operation, and various data operations; the cloud platform allows multi-terminal observation without additional software, and supports multi-account login, data display and analysis, alarms, map viewing, forwarding, and post-processing functions, fully meeting users' data needs for forest and grassland environment monitoring and fire risk prevention and control.
