Introduction to the main configurations of the road weather monitoring system
Article source:Weather station time:2024-08-29 13:25:03 viewed:15times
The growth of highway traffic is vital to the country's economy, which is responsible for the increasing demand for transportation. However, erratic weather, especially extreme weather, poses a challenge to traffic safety on highways, which not only affects smooth traffic flow but also threatens the safety of people's lives and property. Therefore, it has become a public concern to improve the carrying capacity of highways and their ability to cope with severe weather to ensure the safety and efficiency of roads.
The road weather monitoring system consists of several basic parts-
1. Data collection module: uses various sensors to monitor weather and road conditions.
2. Information Dissemination Module: Communicates warnings and instructions to drivers through message boards and other devices.
3. Monitoring Software Module: Uses servers and software to monitor and manage data.
4. Public Service Module: Provides road safety information through web and mobile applications.
5. System Support Module: Includes control, transmission, power supply and data processing to ensure the system functions properly.
The system is capable of monitoring a wide range of weather conditions, such as rain, snow and fog, while measuring temperature, humidity and wind speed. It can also detect road surface conditions such as dry, wet or icy.
Main Configuration-
Visibility detector mainly consists of a transmitter, receiver and microprocessor. The transmitter emits pulses of infrared light, while the receiver captures the intensity of the scattering of these light pulses by suspended particles in the air. The microprocessor collects this data and calculates the actual visibility distance using a specific algorithm.
The Six Elements Integrated Weather Station is capable of simultaneously monitoring six key weather parameters including temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, barometric pressure and rainfall. Data is output through a serial interface, allowing users to conveniently perform real-time measurements and data acquisition through a personal computer or other external device.
The Road condition sensor utilizes spectral technology to detect icing, snow and water on road surfaces from a distance. It is simple to install, does not affect traffic and is easy to maintain. This sensor can be installed at weather stations or places with open sight lines to help management departments keep abreast of road conditions and prevent accidents, especially suitable for highways and hazard-prone roads.
